When this fails, she takes on another daunting task of finding a companion to spend time with.

Monica meets Mark and is immediately smitten with him.

Even with his baggage, he might still be worth it.

After all, he claims there is nothing going on between him and the girl he considers a “sister”.

Then Neal comes into the picture.

This was strictly a serendipitous meeting. In fact, Monica was doing this as a favor to her best friend.

Neal lives in another country and there is no chance for a relationship.
